How to apply

Great! You found an apartment of your interest. 

When you have found an apartment of your interest on the availability page, you can apply for the apartment via the ‘I’m interested’ button. You will receive then an e-mail with the request for a pre-application, please start collecting your documentation already. Find below which documents you would need in your situation. Once your pre-application has been reviewed, you will receive an e-mail with the request to complete the application. Now you can upload all of your documentation we would need to check whether you are eligible. You will have 2 days to complete the full application before the link expires. 

So you have completed the application, we will screen your profile and inform you whether the apartment has been allocated to you. Please wait until we will get in touch with you. Then you will receive your rental agreement to sign. Lastly, you will receive two invoices for the first period of rent and the deposit. The deposit can be settled via Saveon. Invoices and deposit need to be paid 14 days before the start of your rental agreement.

Required documentation

Employed workers
  • We will need you to upload an ID or passport. That could be a Dutch ID Card (note: upload front and back!) or it could be a valid passport (Make a safe copy with this App)
  • If applicable a valid residence permit, work permit or EU Passport
  • A copy of your latest payslip
  • Your bank statement with a salary deposit incl. your name and full bank account number 
  • An employer’s statement with company stamp (not older than 3 months). This is not a copy of your employment contract.  
  • In case of a guarantor a Parental guarantee 

Starting a new job? Ask for a pro-forma payslip or upload your acceptance letter from your new employer! 

Freelancers and Independent Contractors
  • We will need you to upload an ID. That could be a Dutch ID Card (note: upload front and back!) or it could be a valid passport (Make a safe copy with this App)
  • If applicable a valid residence permit, work permit or EU Passport
  • Prove of registration via Chamber of Commerce
  • Proof of actual demonstrable assignments 
  • Financial year statement or tax return 
  • Freelancers and Independent Contractors will be required to arrange a positive ‘credit check’ through Graydon in order to apply. Please upload the report 
  • In case of a guarantor a  Parental guarantee .
Students
  • We will need you to upload an ID. That could be a Dutch ID Card (note: upload front and back!) or it could be a valid passport (Make a safe copy with this App)
  • Proof of enrollment with University
  • Valid residence permit, work permit or EU Passport
  • A copy of your latest payslip
  • Your bank statement with a salary deposit incl. your name and full bank account number 
  • An employer’s statement with company stamp (not older than 3 months). This is not a copy of your employment contract
  • In case of a guarantor a  Parental guarantee 
Requirements and extra information
  • At each apartment you will see the button ‘What can I rent? (Nibud Huurwijzer)’. This will redirect you to the Nibud calculation tool. With this tool you can check if the desired apartment would be within your budget. Please fill out your cold rent at ‘Rekenhuur’. 
  • We will offer you a youth rental agreement of maximum of 5 years when you’re between the age of 18 and 27. When you’re 28 and over you’ll get a fixed period rental agreement of 2 years.
  • An application is not a guarantee for an allocation. First, we will check all documentation. If all the documents are correct and you are eligible, you are on the list. We will allocate based upon ‘first come first serve’. We will let you know as soon as possible if you got the apartment or not and why.
  • Saveon is a deposit guarantor. We can imagine you sometimes just do not have the deposit amount to transfer to the landlord. Saveon will be your guarantor during your rental period in exchange for a small fee. Students are required to secure their deposit guarantee through Saveon.
